Good call on that browser. I've been using it for two days and love it. One big problem though -- I can't right-click and get myself any options for images!!! Can't copy the location of an image, nor open one in a new window! I have NO clue what the path of an image is without looking at the source code! Otherwise, it's incredibly fast and dumps the extraneous garbage i never use in IE. except it's tough to go without autofill ...
There is a new version of the Chimera browser out for OSX. I
downloaded it and is it fast!

Frank B,

I can't recall on which macsite, probably macrumors or macnn, that I read that the primary developer behind chimera's creation (out of mozzila) is now working for Apple. I would say that this bodes very well for a full feature OSX browser from Apple in the near future.

Control click to bring up image and link options or Command click to open a link in a new window.

It is fast. I think I will play with it for a while, to see how compatible it is and how I like it.

Just downloaded a copy and am using it now. I have a full context menu when I right-click - same as IE. Your problem must be directly related to your setup; or, you're using an earlier version - Mine's dated 7-24-02. I'm running OS 10.1.5

I'm using Mozilla 1.0 which is great cause I like to open lots of new windows so the tab feature is used extensively (tip: change the prefs to open the tab in the background). Even Chatzilla is fun except that it doesn't have identd. Cookie management is far better than IE.

Can anyone tell us their experience between the two?

When I right-click (Command-click), my options are:

Open link in new window
Open link in new tab
Copy link location
Save link as ...
Bookmark this link ...
Save image as ...
Reload image

I don't know how to check my build date, but obviously none of those indicate the the IMAGE location, just the LINK location. I could care less about the link location most of the time if I want to copy the IMAGE location and post said location into a message, such as this one, so you guys could all view the same image I'm looking at.

In IE, I have the additional option to "Open image in new window" (note: image, not link). And in Netscape, I have the additional option to copy image location (again, not: image, not link).

Am I nuts?

Thanks,

That would be David Hyatt. He used to work for Netscape but now that he works for Apple, he's signed the usual non-disclosure agreement, so he's not able to say what he does there!

You may also have noticed that Steve Jobs used Chimera Navigator during one of his presentations a few months ago.

If you click on "About Navigator" in the "Navigator" menu, you'll notice
"Special Thanks: Apple Computer Software Engineering"

IMHO that would suggest that David and Apple have a great interest in Chimera.
