Hi Jacques,

Back from France allready ?

I am considering to buy another lens instead of those 2 i said before. My budget has been enlarged a bit, thanx to the agency you least expect it from ...... the IRS (belastingdienst) !!

I'm informing at some stores at the moment, camex nederland for instance ( i've reserved my S2 there ) but i haven't had a reply yet. I don't know about ordering lenses in the us ... transport ... glass ... TPG ... not good !

My goal is to do it right the first time, not to get the most "things" for the lowest price

perhaps a Nikkor D AF 4.5-5.6 / 70-300 mm ED tele at € 469.00 and a Nikkor D AF 3.5-4.5 / 28-105 mm IF at € 495.00 will be a good choice. Slightly above budget, but hey, deadlines are to be broken, so are budgets!

I'm going to Camex today, to recieve a new reciept for the 707 i once bought there, and i will ask them for info about the lenses they sell.

Next item on wishlist (after i have succesfully earned back this investment):

Hi Jacques,

I went to Camex last friday, and i have spent about an hour talking to the manager there. They can deliver tamron lenses, i even have got the tamron lenses brochure. No pricelist, but with a phonecall it's easy to determin what the lens costs.

According to the manager this lens is fully compatible with the S2, so it certainly is a verry nice alternative ! I have decited not to buy the G lanses, it's the wrong element to save money on. The microdrives have just dropped in price a lot, so with a little BTW magic and discounts i can get a verry verry nice set.

Hi Simon,

Just have a look at the Tamron 24-135mm 3.5-5.6 SP IF AF lens, not
realy cheap, from the dutch distributor Euro 535, but after my
search on Internet it's OK. And yesterday I bought a german
photomagazine in which it realy get very high figures and that for
being tested as a 35mm film lens.

It will cover everything from 36 to slightly above 200 mm
equivelant, not problems with vignetting as we only use the center,
my suggestion is, try to change the two lenses you ordered to be
replaced with the one I mention.

It's bit of strange no shops in the Eindhoven region do have this
lens in their program, for me a sign it's too fine and would be a
tread to the well know brands like Nikon and others. And I know the
price isn't a cheap, but well you know me, and I won't stand on one
nights ice,
