Is £899 a good price for 60D?

Hi there

I've been keeping an eye on 60D price since it was introduced a few weeks ago as I want to upgrade from a 40D but am not anxious to pay early adopter prices.

Today I noticed on Jessops website that the 60D body only is being offered for £899 reduced from RRP of £1099.

Is this a good price...? I hope so because I've just bought one. ;-)

Sounds very good to me, I paid £1099 at Jessops though they did match Warehouse Express offer of free Canon battery and 4gb SD card in the deal. I don't think you'll regret it I love the 60D.

Have a look online for discount vouchers as should be able to get another £40 off the Jessop price but you will also find some nice online retailers like best camera that offer the camera at £899 plus 3 years warranty which i think is a life saver having used it with my 1000d

Thanks for the tip which I am sure will help others! Unfortunately it comes too late for me as I've had the 60D a few days now, but I still saved £200 on the RRP so am not complaining.

Fantastic, I'm jealous.

I cannot wait to get mine but am just waiting to see where the prices go first! The current price difference to 7D is very tempting!

I need mine in Dec so got some time but would rather be using it than reading about it!

I thinks it well over-priced at the moment. The 550D should be near to £550 and the 60D nearer to £750-£800. The competition has moved on.

I think it is a good idea if you compare it to the 7D prices in your country - here in Germany Amazon sells the 7D for just 100 € more. I think things can't stay like this - either the 7d price will have to go up or the 60D price down.
