1) Can I see a live histogram while shooting for a better manual exposure compensation as with my actual G1 (Pana micro 4/3)?

2) How manual focusing works for 3rd lenses to be used via adaptor? (with Pana G series you can magnify the EVF/LCD view to get a very accurate focus)

3) more in general how can I read resolution test in lines x mm in the new tests by DP review? Before was easy to compare resolution since you had a clear i.e. 2200x1700 lph.....

Thanks all for your help, the A55 seems a very interesting tool just for the great high iso performance, I'm not interested in video. By the way my G1 bought new for just Euro 370 with the 14-45 is still a bargain and a great camera (EVF, operation in manual focus and lots of existing adaptors thanks to I can use some fine Zeiss ZF and Leica lenses)

You won't be able use most 3rd party non-native lenses like you can on m4/3 (and Nex).
I can use some fine Zeiss ZF and Leica lenses (on G1)
As you can use them on Nex too but not A55. The mirrorless cameras have small flange distance and any lens can be adapted (there is enough space). A55 is not a mirrorless camera. Its has an EVF but the mount is A-mount.

my question: is it true that video AF always uses the lens wide open, meaning that I am stuck with f/1.4 on a SAL50/1.4?

if using MS on video is there any way to set the aperture to a different value before shooting?

but you can use all m42 mount lenses with an adapter

FED-S (my father's) > Canon AE1 (my brother's) > Minolta Maxxum 3xi (my first precious) > Minolta Dynax 400si (hello Canada) > Minolta Dimage 7i (darling) > Konica Minolta 5D (first DSLR) > Sony Alpha A100 (killer baby) > Sony Alpha A700 (serious tool) > Canon 5DMkII (weird computer with average lenses) > Back to A700 (reassured about the greatness) + A900 (depth of colours and pixels)

i meant MF (manual focus), not MS, sorry.

I have similar question with slight modification. Is AF working better with faster lenses e.g. f1.4 -f/2.8 and may by AF working if aperture for faast 50mm 1.4 prime is set till f/2.8 or f/4 or whatever?

Having a decent memory let me answer part of question 2. The EVF can be zoomed twice by pressing the delete button as a focusing aid. I remember reading that in either the Lumious Landscape review, or the full review provided on this site, can't remember where I read it exactly, so it's decent memory, not perfect!
