Who would like pancake lenses, pentax quality for the nex.

I think the nex will be a perfect, allways to carry with you, camera with superior glass.

Lenses like the 15mm wideangle, 35mm macro and the 77mm portrait would do great on a camera like this and makes it a perfect allrounder.

Cannot agree more!

There is Fish, 12 and 16mm already

We need normal and portrait at least to complete line up. 35mm f1.8 and 77mm f2 would be great. (50/1.8 or 60/1.8 will also work)

I would love to see a detailed comparison between the Pentax 15mm f/4 limited (on the NEX) and our 16mm f/2.8 kit lens, to get an idea of what differences there may be.

NEX will never be a perfect all arounder because it doesn't have built in flash.

Here you go:

It's basically no contest.

Oh Tedolf, you disappoint me with such poor quality trolling. If we want a built-in flash we can just screw one on.

I think "no hotshoe" would have been a better line of attack.

You are right, I should have done better:

NEX will never be a good all around camera becase it doesn't have a hot shoe.

I am ashamed.

Next you'll say that it'd be perfect with a fixed, built-in lens instead of an interchangeable one. ;-)

Some people do like the Leica X1.

I am not one of them.

Pentax does not represent the pancake, they just happen to make one more recently. I do enjoy the Panasonic 20/1.7, which is really a lot closer to the original Contax MM mount Tessar 45/2.8 introduce almost 30 years ago. SONY's 16/2.8 is not a bad lens, but it is more useful in video, to me, some may disagree. I hope Sony will have a 28/2 pancake.

I would like a good real"macro lens for the Nex. I'm not in the prime lens group, but I would like a long tele zoom (like the 70-400) in good quality and stabalized for the Nex.

I am using currently NEX with old Takumar M42 Pentax lenses and both 2/55 and 1.4/50 outperform very easily the zoom kit one not mentioning pancake.

Unfortunately even the old wide angle M42 Pentax lenses are quite expensive after 40 years so the shortest I have so far is 3.5/28 which is great btw as well.
Now I even start wondering if manual focus is that big disadvantage :)
