hi everyone, i have just purchased a fuji finepix hs10, as i always shoot raw i thought this is the camera for me, i also use elements to do my raw files , the problem is my files will not open in photoshop elements. anyone any ideas. thanks.. steve

Hi Steve,

Simplest method I have found is to use RAWDROP.

Simply drag the raw files to it & saves a Tiff version which is photoshop friendly.

For more control try Helicon filter.

Enjoy :-)

The HS10 RAW files are not supported by Adobe apps yet.

Depending on whether you are a Mac or a PC user, there are many other apps available that can open and process the Fuji RAF files.

You can search the forum for recommendations.

... Photoshop, ACR, Lightroom do not support the HS-10.

The best program for converting Raw is the RFC supplied with the camera. I have tutorials here :

Beyond that is Oloneo and RawDrop. These are good, but using these programs means that lens aberrations/CA/noise, etc., will need be sorted elsewhere. I use ACR 6.1, Nik DFine and PT Lens for that. They all work very well.

Cheers.

I have decided to wait for Adobe to update their software as I've been led to believe that this will happen soon.

When is the last time Adobe has supported a Fuji camera? S100 or S5 pro is my guess. How many years ago was that?

I just saw that Adobe released another upgrade of RAW support for 12 new cameras. The HS10 is not on it. I seriously doubt Abode will ever support the HS10. The camera has been out plenty long enough to gain support from Adobe. It is very telling that even this late, there is no support. Also telling was a comment made at Adobe's forum. The employee there was responding to a post that asked for support for the S200 and HS10. He noted that they were working on the S200 actively and that we acknowledge that people want support for the HS10 , or something like that. He would not even say if they were working on it.

That said, I still do not believe they will support the S200. I would be very amazed if that came out one day.

It's about time!

Now if only Apple starts supporting the HS10 RAW in iPhoto/Aperture I'll be set :)
