i have a back order for a sony dsc-p7, but after reading some posts it seems that sony does not have drivers for system osx 10.1 or above. is this going to be a major obstacle or are there ways around this. if difficult to download, does anyone know of small camera with multi-burst mode capablilty? thanks in advance.

This is just a hunch. I have a dsc-s85. In its manual it states for both OS 9.1 and 10.0 that drivers are not necessary to install. The mac will recognize the camera as a drive simply by connecting to the mac with the usb cable. Hopefullly the same is true for the dsc-p7.

Just another little bit of advice. Make sure you have the control panel "file exchange" turned on, as the memory stick is in the boring pc format.

Downloading the pictures to the computer is easy. Just plug in the USB cable. iPhoto will automatically start and ask you if you want to import the photos. It will also ask if you want to erase them from the stick after downloading.

Very easy to do...

Only possible problem is if you have a Sony printer and you want to make a print. If you do, don't erase the picture from the stick! Sony does not have a printer driver for OS X (and I have not been sucessful printing from 9).
