DPReview don't review medium format cameras....in the near future or there is some other site I should look at?
Do not confuse haven't with with don't, just because they haven't done it in the past doesn't mean the don't do them. It simply maybe the case that the other MF companies have never supplied them with a camera to review, Pentax may.DPReview don't review medium format cameras.
The 645D is only sold in Japan, though, isn't it? I think that limits the chances of them doing it drastically. But it would be interesting to see.Do not confuse haven't with with don't, just because they haven't done it in the past doesn't mean the don't do them.DPReview don't review medium format cameras.

And DPreview dislikes Pentax gear. It is seen keen in their reviews. I doubt Pentax has any interest in review being done here.

haha ... you could be right but I don't think any noob would buy a camera worth almost 10 grand based on a review done on this site. On the contrary, someone serious interested in a camera like D3x could benefit from a direct comparison between all the studio DSLRs and the Pentax. If they did I can see a stream of newbie's buying 645D's without a clue as to why apart from it being the most megapixels !
So as a public service maybe they should not review it.
they won't. if they did, they would have to review the rest of MF cameras too.I don't doubt that if Pentax sent them one they would do it, and it wouldn't actually surprise me if they did.
It is in the same price band of a few cameras DPR have reviewed such as the Nikon D3X and Pentax say it is targeted at serious amateurs - particularly landscape photographers - so I guess that makes it a "prosumer" camera which fits in with a lot of DPRs audience.DPReview don't review medium format cameras....in the near future or there is some other site I should look at?
Well if that does happen and more so happens with a Pentax Digital MF then how is that a bad thing for a company like Pentax?I was only half joking.
In fact when you see people moving from a P&S to things like the D300s and a raft of lenses I can only dream of ( and most pros can't justify the cost of ), you start to see that, for some people, ten G's ain't as high as it ought to be.
The difference is that people actually care about the 645D.
I would never ask this bunch to review a professional camera of this calibre!
Better to follow Chris as he writes about his 645D. The experience of a competent, knowledgeable professional who uses his camera to earn his bread and butter is worth far more than a DPReview text jockey.

I think you are right. It'd be nice to hear something straight from the horse's mouth though. Maybe the reason they don't review any MFs is because they don't get any from the manufacturers and maybe Pentax will be wise enough to provide them a production sample.they won't. if they did, they would have to review the rest of MF cameras too.I don't doubt that if Pentax sent them one they would do it, and it wouldn't actually surprise me if they did.
The second reason: they never review cameras that are not on sale worldwide (at least they don't if the camera is not for sale in the US).
they don't even review all the cameras/lenses that they do have.
