I can't get close to the subject in macro mode , WHY?
The nearest that i can get is about 10cm.

Set to Macro mode on top panel, set zoom to about somewhere more than mid range until the macro flower sign on the colour LCD viewer turns green, than you can move close up to 2cm from your subject. A small paper clip will fill the frame.
