This is a forum right? .... I think the ads are bigger than the text

............well I happen to be rather gifted I suppose since I possess the uncanny ability to totally ignore the ads , flashing or not, and focus / concentrate soley on the forum I'm reading.

Same here.

I never, ever, ever look at those ads. In fact, I don't even know how many ads there are in a page, what's their color or if there are photos/flash animations, etc.

To me they are just peripheral noise that I cancel out when reading the forums.

Ad's, Ad's and more Ad's. I just ignore them (easier said than done for some I know, but I am also one of those over 60's that have been mentioned) and continue to appreciate the wealth of information, help and guidance that is so generously offered through this site, and by the way, I really appreciate that this is also provided for free.

There is enough space to the left hand side of the Forum window to have another column of ad's. Now there's food for thought!!!! I just appreciate that Phil's team try to keep this site up to date and very useable in as balanced a way as is reasonable for all.

Now, who was it that said, "there's no such thing as a free lunch"

You'd just rather not allow our advertisers to pay for it.

That line doesn't work with many of us because our health is more important than whether your advertisers pay for it or not.

Some of us are in our 60s and 70s or older. Do you really think that we would be able to participate in these forums if we allowed flashing lights to surround what we read and write? Then, to add insult to injury, because we have to increase the size of the text, and in order to maintain some balance between the text size and message window size, we cannot zoom text only, we are forced to endure the increased size of the flashing windows.

Damn, Olga, if you're health is at stake, quit visiting the forum. Or, you can do what I do and accept a little responsibility and change how the forum displays. I'm old so I have bigger print, got rid of the bizarre color scheme, eliminated all popups and it works fine.

Personal responsibility is so much less fun than whining.

Oh, and I have no moving ads and I don't use Firefox. Imagine that.
