I need four 256Mb CF cards... which deal is better?

256Mb Ridata @ $205 CND
or
256Mb Sandisk @ $200 CND

I feel the Ridata is the better deal, BUT... is there only ONE Ridata 256Mb CF card or is there a cheap slow version as well which is why the price is cheap?

Ridata is significantly faster than Sandisk (see other threads on this topic).
If you are going to spend $800 on 4 cards, consider this option:

.....get one Ridata card and get an Image Bank with 20 GB drive (from http://www.powerinnumbers.com.au ) for CAD 444 (includes shipping)....your total bill will be 650 - 660 CAD.

I bought a 256MB Sandisk at buy.com for $70 with Sandisk rebate and ebates.com. Sorry, the rebates may be over, but watch for others. It may not be the fastest model, but I have no problems with speed. With storage prices always dropping, you're better off getting the cheapest you can get away with. Next year the same cards will cost half as much.

I seriously considered an Image Bank howhever, I could never have peace of mind knowing it's a mechanical device which can cause me to lose 20Gb of data not if, but WHEN it fails/dies. I've bought 5 hard drives over the years... 2 of them failed soon after I bought them. Data on my computer is replacable.. photos, especially vacation ones are not. I would shoot myself if I lost 50 pictures.. I don't know what I would do if I lost 1000's!

CF cards I feel are more reliable. I would rather spend more on CF cards and not worry (as much).

Thanks for your suggestion though. :)
