Hi All,

I got the FA77 this spring and of course I love it. My family is pretty camera shy, so its rare I get to use it for portraits, a great pity. A few weeks back I did manage to get a few pictures taken before the perverbial hand was stuck in front of the camera lens. I got some shots that I am really happy with.

Comments are welcome!

K200D FA77 ISO 400 F2.8 1/350"

K200D FA77 ISO400 F2.8 1/90"

K200D FA77 ISO400 F4 1/30"

This one's a little soft, probably due the subject moving and the slower shutter speed, buy I like the gesture.

Thanks for looking!

Nice series. If the third one is soft, it is barely noticeable.

I just got the FA 77 myself but have not yet used it.

I like #2 the best as well. Great photo!

I too just got my FA77, and absolutely love it. Don't mean to poach the thread, but here's a dog portrait i got last week with it in really low light :) I just love this lens!

First and second are great, both subject and photograph. My minor quibble with the third one is that the very bright left side overwhelms the rest of the photo. I love the pose of the subject though.

This is the one FA Ltd that I don't have. I would love to own it, but there is no chance (even using my most persuasive and convoluted reasoning) that I can justify to even to myself :) Particularly as I am not sure I could use it to such good effect (I am a much better critic than I am a photographer).

Great shots! First pic reminds me of Uma Thurman (she's got the "kill bill" look). The b&w are also very nice. You have to love that 77mm ltd.

Very nice indeed! Have to agree with earlier post that all subjects are very photogenic. I've seen the same expression from my son as depicted in photo #2.

Look forward to future portraits with the 77. Wish i had one...someday.

The FA77 is a great lens for portraits and esp. in the first one you have created a close encounter that would be difficult to reproduce with another lens. A great example of what this lens can produce. But credit to man behind the camera as well!

well.. I consider this thread to be over already, but just wanted to say that these portraits are really superb! congratulations. these girls are looking bright and intelligent and the photos make the impression to transport some of their personality - not the "sweet-puppy" look seen on many other childrens pics.
