Myammar with Pentax gear

I cant't agree with that. I live in Poland. I was born in 1962 in the middle of Cold War. I lived 28 year in real communism
Camoon. You do not know nothing about communism.
No passports, no free press, no any real kind of social freedom. I was active for 7 years in underground movement of Solidarity.
In real communism there was passports. I still have my CCCP passport somewhere.
Now begining of 1989 we are free. And it is big difference. It is big difference not because I can visit Birma or other places, it is big difference because I'm free,
Seems free of mind. Free of land. free of education. At soviet times everybody would listen to you, when somebody would try to speak from "underground movement of Solidarity". These days nobody will listen.
I can vote, I can read what I want, I can communicate with you and anybody else without any restrictions.
It is called "Brain washing". Go and vote! Just keep in mind first democracy and Smith purposes to develop model of democracy - to keep power for the same richies, making illusion for masses. Ok, I agree - it is better model than Soviet system for life comfort. Because we will always vote to eat seeds potatoes than to live half year in poverty and then eat a lto more, fresh, big good potatoes. Like Greece - they are going in demonstrations now - please give more seeds potatoes! It is the same system always, till complete system crash and resulting WW-n :)))
I'm not slave of any system now, if I'm not slave of anything if I'm slave of anything I'm slave of my mind, my needs or my imagination.
Don't lie me. You are slave these days much more. Indirect slave. Ok, let's wait a little bit. Some two years may be, because Poland is big and quite inert system. But it will become slaves country after some short time - cheap production, cheap food, low salaries, low education - Poland's future (with us even worse). And slaves individually - new generation will move to Ireland, USA, olders will stay with tiny pensions. Others will have mortgage payments to the same German, Austrian and other banks. It is not freedom. Freedom is to control your fruits of work done. But you will not control it. Freedom of speech will not help.
Globalisation is not anything we can fight against. We should fight againt people who take off freedom of other people.
Freedom does not exist. It is just stupid word what is used to kill milions. Happiness - it is real thing. But seems you didn't noticed what does it mean. Sorry - You didn't visited Myanamar. You just went through some tourist spots. :)

Happiness will disappear when banks, money, debts, democracy, news, etc will start their work.
sorry for my english - hope I was clear enough

Firstly, congratulations on some very nice photos of Myanmar. Its a wonderful country and well worth a visit.

We were there last year but only visited after much soul searching. Did we stay away because of the appalling military Junta or did we go and meet and support the Myanmar people? We decided on the latter and have no regrets in going.

However, I find our member from Latvia's good wishes to the Ruling Junta in poor taste. From our visit, it was quite evident that they are detested by the population at large.

Myanmar should be the wealthiest nation in SE Asia but is infact the people are the poorest. It is rich in oil, gas and emeralds which are sold mainly to China, Thailand, India and Singapore. China in particular will broach no discussion on the lack of human rights in Myanmar. No wonder, looking at their own abysmal record.

This is the Government which sanctions the shooting or imprisonment of fellow countymen who have the audacity to protest against the overthrow of the legally elected government and the beating of peacefully protesting monks whilst making themselves rich in the process.

I must agree that you dont find any MacDonalds or Burger King in the country and this can come as a welcome relief but please dont congratulate the Junta on their lack of presence.

Magnificent country and wonderful people who deserve better than this dreadful and rightly condemned military dictatorship.

While all of the images are great I really like the one with the reflections on the polished floor. I don't know if you did but I could spend a half hour just taking pictures in that one place.
