Just got my Fuji wide angle lens only to ind that there is no filter thread on the front - so how am I going to fit a UV filter and/or polarizer? Anyone with ideas?

I'm not sure about this because I have no wide-angle lens experience but, have you tried putting the UV and polarizer before the wide-angle? My UV and polarizer filters both have threads on the outside. Again, this may be a horrible idea but I thought I'd give it a shot since no one else replied.

Thanks for the replies.
Matt,

Nice idea but I'm afraid it won't work. I need the UV filter on the front of the lens to protect the front element of the lens from damage. The polarizer is a Cokin P series one that fits into a modular filter holder and can only be fitted to the front of the lens.

Lynn,

I have the adaptor tube ( it came with the lens), it's just that there is no filter thread on the front of the lens. I wonder why Fuji thought that users of this lens would not want to use filters?

Thanks again for the replies.

Well, they made us the adapter tube. The lens is a moving section coupled to a DELICATE servo. Can you imagine all the possible damage people could do attaching all sorts of "heavy" fittings at the end of that !!! The tube is a good thing :-)

Which brings up my ONLY one fear ,,, has anyone accidently switched the camera ON while it was tucked snugly in a camera case? Does the servo "back off" if it meets resistance (like those drink holders on the computers do)? Hmmm maybe I'll send Fuji another email, 3 out of 3 answers so far is a good score :-)

Hi JKirk

Thanks for the reply but I'm talking about there not being a thread on the front of the Fuji wide angle convesion lens - the WL-FX9.
