A rep at Zacuto, makers of the Z-Finder - (says that other Canon cameras (7D, 5Dmk II,IV and others) also have 3:2 LCDs. I thought T2i was the first. Who is correct?

the t2i's has a higher pixel count i think.
You know this, how? The link does not confirm 3:2 LCD, in fact the photo looks very much like 4:3.
That, too. The T2i/55D is the only EOS (to date) that Canon has stated has 3:2 aspect LCD monitor.the t2i's has a higher pixel count i think.
I was just going by what it said in th specs lolYou know this, how? The link does not confirm 3:2 LCD, in fact the photo looks very much like 4:3.

But IMHO, it is not a meaninful distinction. All the 4:3 LCDs display the full 3:2 image from the sensor without cropping, it's just "letter-boxed" with the file # and shutter/aperture data displayed in the black space above (review) or below (Live View & Video) the image. With the 3:2 LCD the file # and data are either not displayed or are overlayed on top of the image. No thanks.
YMMV

Aspect Ratio
3:2 (Horizontal: Vertical)
Such a "viewer" is an expensive gimmick. Buy a Lumix GH1, it has "bigger screen" AND a tiltable display - like a "real" camcorder. The question is, will the Zacuto Z-finder, a VF that fits over the LCD, show the entire 3:2 display on the T2i LCD when it was designed for 7D and 5D. They say it will - I'm not so sure...
Opinions?
That's under the "Image Sensor" heading. The LCD monitor is further down and nothing is mentioned there.I was just going by what it said in th specs lol

For the price of this (toc-toc-toc) viewer you get a pocket camera with excellent fullHD and HD video (TX7)
Not ideal for settings display, but you actually get the full height on the LCD for image review... easier to check focus at a glance. If you discount the black top-border this gives you 640x426 @ ~ 2.66" vs 720x480 @ 3" - a 25% boost in total resolution. With the 3:2 LCD the file # and data are either not displayed or are overlayed on top of the image. No thanks.
