I'm looking to pick up a Tokina 11-16 lens for my D90. I checked ebay and the only seller of the Tokina 11-16 is PhotoVideo4Less. From what I've read on other forums/reviews, they also operate under Sigma4Less.

Reseller reviews looks pretty positive (still some negative reviews though). Anyone have any insight into this company? Positive/negative reviews specifically from DPReview members?

I noticed one of their listings specifically mentions USA - while others for the same lens, do not. I'm assuming the USA is a true USA version with warranty and the others are grey market??

Thanks in advance!

For a new lens, I would double and triple check whether or not it is a US imported lens (and thus would carry the Tokina US warranty). I don't know how much less they are selling the lens for compared to B&H or Adorama, but if it's not that much (mostly when you include S&H), it might be worth going with a reputable dealer.

In my case, I picked up my copy from a local photo store for a couple dollars more than either online shops.

Ken Rockwell has a good write-up on going about buying photographic equipment, including what to watch out for:

Basically, be careful when buying equipment from less well-known places. Oh, and always keep in mind that Mr. Rockwell is very biased in some ares (he loves film vs digital and pushes it every chance he gets, and currently he dislikes DSLRs), so read his stuff with a skeptical eye.

I have purchased from them a couple of times with very satisfactory results. I usually use B&H, but in one case Photo4Less was much less expensive, and in another case they had the item in stock when B&H did not. Shipping was fast and I had absolutely no issues. I would certainly buy from them again.

Thanks everyone! I ended up seeing more positive reviews regarding Berger Bros and found a listing from them on ebay for the same price.

I generally try to avoid ebay for all camera/lens purchases, but I had a 15% coupon for ebay/paypal and with the Bing cashback, I was able to save $138!

Appreciate the responses!

Of all the ultra wide angle zooms I see selling used on eBay or Fredmiranda.com or other locations, the great majority are the Tokina 11-16mm lens. I would be wary of a lens that so many people want to sell.
