New EP1 owner has a few questions

I got my EP1 yesterday. I didn't have a chance to get outside yet and mostly played around with menus.

I get a lot of noise/static when using the live view. Is this normal? Same if the lens cap is on. Pictures come out ok, but that is something I was not expecting.

Latest Firmware is 1.1 right?

I think 1.2 is the latest firmware... That is normal in darker situations... I think it has something to do with the sensor.. Not sure, but it wont affect your image.

Hi,

I picked up my E-P1 this morning, like you I am new to the camera.
The noise, dark images in LIve View is the same on mine - This is normal.
Have you installed Master2? Through it you can update the firmware to 1.2

Thanks....just took it outside and no noise (and hard to see in bright sun/snow). I have not yet installed master 2.

Just my past experience, but I tend to get much better results when I take the lens cap off .

Its because the camera automatically increases sensitivity so you can actually see using the LCD in dark situations.
