Seeing that it's summer time.. and many of you with green thumbs have your gardens in peak performance. There has got to be the occasional pests that come to call.. so what do you do? You build a scarecrow...Those of you that have been coming up with all the terrific barn shots know that where there is a barn, there is usually a garden with a scarecrow. The challenge is this: provide your best shot of a scarecrow. Here's mine:

The kicker on this is, it ain't on no farm! It's planted behind our office bldg. and the scarecrow is a take-off on one of the two bosses! Made by a very funny practical joker co-worker..I about had my coffee come thru my nose this morning when I saw this! LOL
Let's see those scarecrows!

I'll try to get it, but can't promise quality owing to time of day and light, but I hope it will play.

If that one doesn't work, nothing will!

They did a great job!

Meanwhile, I looked and looked between home and town, even taking a few side trips.......and not a scarecrow to be seen...Darn!......
Guess I can't participate....but I tried........

I had to make my scarecrow--they're only found here around halloween. Time to get busy ;-)

It's the Infamous "fly catcher" (the tongue) Scarecrow right?...

Too funny! Thanks Cheryl! Great imagination! I think that will scare quite a few things from the garden. (o:

Now how many quail do you think that's gonna scare? LOL Maybe by gettin' hit with that thing eh?

Cute pic. I like the angle of the shot, and you remembered the rule of thirds... good job!! Thanks for your participation!

Mary:

I found this today in my neighborhood - the last thing I expected to find around here! It was cloudy, but bright, and hard to get a good shot but I did my best...

I got one of my boys to help make a scarecrow.

Believe me this one has people stopping on the street and backing up to take a closer look!! It is fun to watch them.
It's called "man behind bush"

Kim,

Very creative! But I must say it gives me the creeps to look at 'him' lurking...no wonder the neighbors stop short! Of course, I assume he's posed to look as if he's inspecting the siding on your house, right? lol

Well done! You are the scarecrow championette.

Mary B had a great challenge (IMHO) when she started this thread - I am very disappointed that more have not taken her up on it. There are some threads that seem to be like "no fun" that have many neg. responses. Then Mary B comes up with a good ideas (subject) and a challenge and 3 or 4 people take the challenge.
Let's see some more -- please ;-)
Great job cheryl, john, lalady !
