Pets are People Too Challenge Complaints

Yes, I know about all the complaints lodged concerning images of only pets. I had already dq'd a number of them. I realized that because I didn't spell it out in capital letters, minute specific detail in 3 different places that I was allowing people to enter all those images that have generated over 100 complaints.

At the time I was dealing with some difficult personal issues and had neither the time nor energy to devote to properly dqing images, since I go to the trouble of explaining why and offering suggestions about submitting a new image.

Since I didn't recognize the issue until after it was too late to edit the rules, I let things slide.

I did post on this forum that because I didn't make rules so undeniably obvious, I would allow those images to remain and let the voters decide HINT HINT!!! LOL

That's my suggestion: anyone who recognizes that the nature of the challenge is to show pets AND their human owners together should give .5 star to all those solo pet images.

I am creating a "Part 2" which will have much clearer explanation and rules. My apologies for not doing that the first time.

Agreed. The rules were VERY clear, people just chose not to follow them. I've been following a couple of other challenges where the hosts were clearly remiss in their stating of the rules and handling of the challenge. In this case it was the participants who were remiss in their human-less submissions. There is no excuse for those photos even being submitted.

I don't have a pic in this challenge but based on what I read it was important enough for me to vote:

.5 - only animal, regardless of quality of pic

2.0 min - if including a person that was intended to be in the pic (legs don't count)

+.5-2.0 in addition to the 2.0 min if the picture is interesting, title appropriate, etc.

No one got higher than 4.0. The 4.0 was NOT a dog or cat. {snore}

I have a feeling that some people look at a challenge to enter, see some of the thumbnails. Think "I have one a picture of a pet like that" and bingo they don't absorbe the rules. Vic
