At least for now, the majority of my pics will be indoors of my infant twins. Since babies make about 10 different faces in 10 seconds, and my situation is further complicated by needing both kids to be looking cute at the same time, I'd like the ability to snap a sequence of photos rapidly and choose the cutest one.

Further, I'm not a big fan of using a flash, so will the G11 give me good performance indoors without one?

Point & Shoot Cameras, including the G11, have small flashes.

Kids can move fast. To freeze the action you need light.

You'll either have to stay within the nominal range of the G11 flash which is about 10' or add an external flash. The same would hold true for all P&S's with some being much worse.

You can check this out for actual G11 shot to shot recycle time.

I take a lot of indoor kids' photos and use a G11 with a 270EX flash with solid results.
