Interview with planner of Panasonic imaging department

Does it even use a shutter when in video mode?
The Spanish-English translation of his interview says: "For video, for example, with just the electronic shutter, but are only 2 megapixels". (Para el vídeo, por ejemplo, basta con la obturación electrónica, pero son sólo 2 megapíxeles.)

So I conclude that there's one for movies. Since I have no clue about what is an electronic shutter, I presume that this coud be an electronic device that puts the sensor on/of sixty times a second. It could also so be a cyclic flash memory which reads/unreads the data from the sensor and saves the data to the SDHC card as different frames of a movie.

These hypotheses may be completely wrong. One thing is sure: in the next generation of Panasonic series G cameras, the user will be able to set the level of noise from the shutter (since that noise will just be a fake MP3 sound).

Noise handling is better in the sensor of the GH1.

Kind regards
