This has very likely been covered in other posts - I have tried to read all of them, but there is so much material it's hard to find the specifics.

I found a good source for 11x14 oak frames and I'd like to print some 11x14 prints and hang them up. Preferably, I'd like to buy 11x17 paper rather than 13x19 paper (cheaper, yes?) But if I go with the 11x17 paper I would need to print borderless.

So what do I do? Cut off 3 inches to make the paper 11x14? Will the S9000 even print borderless 11x14? Or should I print bordered on the 11x17 paper with as small a border as possible, say 1/4", which the frame would maybe hide anyway.

I'd like to know what to do before I invest in either of these paper sizes. Thanks for your help!

I think most people would mat a 8X10 print for an 11X14 frame.

I am getting more confused and frustrated. I have tried to set up to print an 11 by 14 print, either borderless or with a small border with Qimage and with Canon Easy PhotoPrint. I can NOT figure out how to set up either one of these programs to print an 11 by 14 image. (using 11x17 paper)

Qimage keeps snapping back to 8 by 10 because I did that once. CEPP apparently does not have any cropping options, so it sets my 1 to 1.33 ratio image in the middle of the 11 by 17 page, leaving what I can only guess as about a 1/2" border at the top and bottom. That would make it 10" high and 13.3" wide - not what I want.

Why do they make the most simple things so difficult. If I have to, I'll place the image in Microsoft Publisher where I can specify the EXACT size of the image I want printed. Please help!

My situation was: I found a good source for 11 by 14 inch frames. Now I want to print images that fit this frame. No one offered any help, so I figured it out. Using Qimage, and 11x17 paper, on my S9000, I can print my image at 10.73" by 13.66" on 11x17 paper. That leaves a very small 0.135" border on the top and bottom and white space on the sides (due to the 17" paper.) So all I have to do is cut the sides to 14".

The very small 0.135" border on the top and bottom and the 0.17" border on the sides will be hidden in the picture frame which has a 0.25" ledge all the way around. So Bingo! I can do what I want to do. Since no one was interested, I won't bore you with the details. But I am pleased I can do what I want and that is print an image that FILLS an 11 by 14 frame!

Sorry I only saw your post very late.... I also like printing 11X14 - nice proportions and I also like the fact that I can stick them into cheap frames (and sometimes I don't want to mat them...!). I use Epson Heavyweight Matte - it seems quite readily available in 11X14 (I think I bought my last lot from CompUSA) - I like natural scenes on this stuff.

I did a post last night, but it's for Photoshop - have a look - it may help.

Basically, you have to fool the driver a bit, but you can print perfect borderless for any size under A3 (and obviously A3 too).
