hi there,

here is what i consider a one in a thousand shot... it was about time as i already squeezed out some 2500 photos of my 990 ... > o)

... believe me or not, but it was absolutely unsolicited (cat-owners will believe me as they know this cant be set up ;o)

its titled: "cat, flower, shelf and wall"

Very pretty- spare, yet colorful.

Any pictures of the aftermath, when kitty decided to taste the bird-of-paradise? I know my cats would not have missed the opportunity.

Paul

Good pic!!!!!! are the flowers birds of paradise??? or something....a mexican flower??

Oh yeah! Great shot Alfred. Way to go.
Yep, Brent, Bird of Paradise.

Alfred,

I remember seeing Bird of Paradise almost everywhere in Maui...beautiful flower and subject. I noticed in your profile that you're from Chile. Does the Bird of Paradise grow wild there like it does in Hawaii?
Thanks for sharing,

John

Love the simple composition....striking colors. Very nice! K.

Paul,

glad you ask ....

my computer at home is currently out of order, as the cats dropped the glass over my monitor and about 200cc of water ran into the monitor .... (NO kiddn)

... as you said... the aftermath of a 1 in 1000 shot ;o)

best regards,

alfred

...with this in PS? It's a good source image (very good just as it is) for getting creative with. We might be able to share some Photoshop techniques using this image as an example, with your permission, of course.
BTW, my cat would have pushed that vase right off the edge of the table.

go ahead....!!!! feel free to do what ever you want

best regards,
alfred

ps: my cat pushed it over and all the water ran into the monitor... so yesterday the monitor did not work at all, and today everything is blue!!!!

Great shot. However, how could you ever trust the cat not to knock over the vase? I see it did. Result: The cat is quicker than the eye.

Your original has better composition, I think, but it'll go portrait mode as well.
