The general consensus is that the images were a little on the bright side and would benefit from a bit more shadow detail, I've gone back to the drawing board and tried to make them a bit more gritty and dark, I quite like the resulting images which I know won't be to everyone's taste, but hey you can't please all the people all the time and I enjoyed playing so here goes with version 2

all with the E3 and 7-14 @ 7mm

I like this version better, I think, a combination of real and unreal. Full-on hdr images with no shadows do sort of look the same after a while, like flea market velvet paintings, but other treatments, including "out of camera" natural, can get repetitive too.
