I recently purchased a new Olympus SP-350 on clearance for only $100.00.

Although it is not the fastest camera in the world, it does produce wonderful images if you shoot raw, and is still quite competitive with its 8 meg sensor. Here is an image captured using raw and edited in the new Lightroom 3 Beta.

That's nice...I prefer color for street photography, so naturally for me this has a great appeal. If more street photos were shown this good, I think there would be more interest in taking them.

That little gem will surprise the heck out of you - really, especially when you try it in RAW mode. Wow, $100 new - now that was a bargain.

I love my SP350 and it accompanies me everywhere. The Sony A100 gets some use but not as much as the 350. I only wish the tele went to 200. It would then be perfect. Great photos btw.

Here are three more photos I captured today using my Olympus SP-350. I wanted to create a very dark angular feeling to my shots of midtown New York City, so I metered the light portions of the images and let the shadows come out as dark as possible, with a little help in Lightroom 3. Getting this camera for only $100 was an incredible deal! It is a very versatile camera that goes beyond point and shoot.

That is not bad for a 2005 vintage camera. And it has a hotshoe and an OVF.

I bought the Stylus 800 that year. It is a pocket camera - no protrusions when closed. I retain it because it is weather-resistant.

Photographs take precedence over newness/price of gear. And, these photographs easily earn their honor. Great cityscapes. Nice vision; terrific crops.

Thanks for the opportunity to appreciate your work and your camera.

Nice shots! I have the SP-320 but rarely used RAW, SHQ was plenty good! If only they'd bring the 350 back with 10mp and a 5x lens (like 28-140mm)....

Nice to see another old Olympus P&S. I have an SP-310 I got at Walmart for $180 four years ago and its great.

Ginkgo trees often drop their bright yellow leaves in one day, sometimes in a matter of hours. Yesterday the 100 foot plus tall one at our town hall dropped. Olympus colors are so nice and my Panasonic FX500 blows out skies if I'm not careful so I didn't hesitate running down to the town hall with the Olympus instead of the Panny. Here are some shots:
