D100 auto focus performance?

Does anyone have comments about the D100's autofocus performance? I'm used to an F100 (perfection) and an F90X (pretty good, but not perfect). I borrowed an F80 today to try out the D100's A.F. system--spec's say that they're the same--and was unimpressed. I'm an A.F. addicted sports shooter. Anyone have experience with the new camera? In cave-dark gymnasiums?

If you rely on AF that much, get a D1H, D1X, or (if you don't own Nikon glass) a Canon 1D. At half the price, and using the same Cam900 chip as the N80, the D100 won't have the same AF as the pro cameras.

That said, the v1.0 reviews should be coming out any day now, so best to wait and see...
