I just bought a 300mm F4 IFED (non AFS)recently, and took it for shooting birds in my community park, all of a sudden, a heron appeared, and the
fulmars flew away quickly.
Nice color in the golden hour, I recently purchased a 200f4 AIS and I am really surprised by the color and was exploring the purchase of the next size up .....BUT I must know how did you shoot that BIF, was that an accident or do you have a technique?
I have that lens and love it. The BIF is nice and sharp, but isn't a Fulmar (they nest on remote rocky islands and spend the rest of their lives at sea) but a 1st winter plumaged Ring-billed Gull. I like the colors in the water.

Thanks for the comments and corrections of the bird's name.
Actually my 300mm F4 is the older AF version (not the new AFS version), the AF is slow but can capture the action in good light.
I stayed at the lake shore for half an hour, and took several hundred shots.
