I grapped the oppitunity to take some beautiful sunset shots with my new A550 yeasterday.

A flower.. (ISO 200 - 1/15 - F 3,5)

A flower with some flash :) (ISO 200 - 1/160 - F 3,5)

View over lake.. I sort of like this little over-exposed/blown-out effect (ISO 400 - 1/160 - F 2,8)

View over lake again - adding some flash to the foreground gave a nice effect i think (ISO 400 - 1/160 - F 5,6)

View over lake zoomed in on the grass. ( ISO 400 - 1/160 - F 5,6)

View over lake without flash in foreground :) (ISO 400 - 1/160 - F 5,6)

Lanscape, with DRO Level 4 - impressive feature. (ISO 400 - 1/50 - F 5,0)

Beautyful view - i like the way the sky changes colour.. (ISO 400 - 1/15 - F 8,0)

Bridge.. Using the AUTO HDR feature - Ok result! (ISO 800 - 1/15 - F 4,5)

View over lake for the last time :) (ISO 800 - 1/80 - F 4,5)

Overall i am highly happy with my new camera - The new features as better DRO and AUTO HDR is quite usefull and the IQ is wonderful :)

Very nice photos. I am by no means an expert, but they do look nice to my eye and no noticeable banding at all. Are you outside the US? So far I have not seen the A550 available in the States just yet...

Nice pictures from your A550 and to think you did these without MLU is just amazing. I was starting to think without MLU it was imposible to take good pictures. I am glad to see you are taking pictures with your camera unlike others who sit theirs by the computer and ***** about this and that.

what's the A550 like with clear blue sky? does it have the same noisy red channel like most other Alpha's?

Thanks for some pleasing low-light pictures. How easy is the A550 to focus in low light? There's no AF illuminator? Do you miss that, or does it lock on nicely?

thanks

There are some noise - but it's not a massive problem for me.

It focuses better than my old a300 - I also had the HVL 42 mouted on it (which has AF Light). It has no big troubles with focusing in normal lights. (without AF light).
