Salam,

Yamin

Hi Rusma!

In the first, I really like the contrast between the sharpness of the model and the graininess of the landscape - almost looks like a backdrop but, for me, the pose in the third shot takes first prize. That pose is so powerful that the skyscrapers are toppling! It almost looks like those illuminated fairies are saluting your prowess from the top of the building. I bet the grain, slight banding and colour noise would even print up fine too.

In summary, my thoughts are "Wow!".

Cheers,

Mike, thanks for C&C, the "fairy" you mentioned is the Jakarta's icon, we called it "Welcome Statue", it is in the heart of Jakarta, there is a very nice big fountain.

Outdoor night shot with model really needs high quality body and lenses.

Because you started to uses wide aperture lenses in evening lighting - best combination (my IMHO taste!) for glamour shot, although worst situation for pentax digital cameras. :)

Really nice shots! Though all of them out of focus.

Hi Rusma

Nice to see something from another Pentax user in Jakarta (I'm a newcomer to the brand myself). That Jakarta pollution sure changes the backgrounds behind this beautiful model. No need for a smoke machine. The effect, though noisy, is certainly dramatic.

Yes Sune, K10D was really giving problems with focus, I had very good and strong backlight (see the shot) and the K10D was always backfocusing.

Camera with CAL were the winner, no need to explain the brands.
and yes... Canon 5D have the same problem too lol...:)
The second shot is fabulous.
Maybe the K7 would help you, if the K10 is giving you problems

Vaards,

Canon 5D got the same problem too :D :D

A lot of missed focus and backfocus, because there were very strong lights at the background, we used them for backlight and rim light, you can see the reflection on the water.

Steve, nice to know that you are living in jakarta.

Yes, Jakarta pollution is worst, although, I took the picture at 2.am-4.am around Jl. Sudirman.

Maybe sometime you can joint us?

Thanks for sharing. How are you triggering your softbox?

Even if you cropped the light (camera left) out in the first one I think too much stray light has gotten into the lens. Personally I would have tried to use a flag to block the light. "Hey you over there can you stand right here for a minute?" and then shot it vertically. Anyway you didn't ask for CC so I will shut up.

Thank Wallace, C&C are always welcome :)
The light at left is a very big and stong light, it is hard to cover it.

Abt the softbox, I am using radio trigger like PT-04.

Rusma, I only admire your shots, I'm far from having the ability to c&c. :)

I like your Welcoming sculptures but my daughter still insists they are glowing fairies. In my travels, I've only spent 2 nights in Indonesia. The itinerary was: airport, meeting room, hotel, working dinner, bed, working breakfast, all day meetings, working dinner, bed, depart hotel 5 am.

Your photo shoot locations, whether they show off the city or nature as backdrops, always remind me there are so many more exciting things to go back and see (oh, and not forgetting your models, of course!) :) One day...!

Cheers,

Mike in Melbourne

Hi Rusma,

Nice photos.
I like #4 the most.

Just my opinion but it seems that the photos are not that sharp.
It's pretty sharp but not really sharp.
Were you using some kind of filter?

Thnx,
