K8 Wishlist - built-in Projector

That is gadgetry. Does not help image quality. A better "feature" would be a full frame sensor.
Nikon can do it - surely Pentax will match them in the next camera release.

Yeah, I know I've been cynical about other "wishlist" posts, but I think this one has as much chance of materialising as the other wishlists.

That is a waste of money, you'll need longer, heavier, more expensive glass and the only benefit in IQ is in very high ISO, sure you could get a few mm wider at the ultra wide end but then taking a couple of steps back would give you a similar result in APS-C.

A better feature would be a faster SR system and Predictive AF, the IQ is just fine except for the extreme and the better AF system will mean getting the shot instead of a high quality missed image.

Yeah, if Nikon put a projector in a digital compact camera then Pentax ABSOLUTELY MUST include it in their next DSLR release ... wtf?

That would be awsome Mike as long as it could also play video formats as well. Just imagine going travelling but being able to watch movies in the evening, even when camping :)

I think with careful design, a bottle opener could be incorperated into the strap mount too as mentioned. Just think of the endless posibilities.

How about a dual charging system that could work like the Seiko Kinetics and also solar. Never be caught out with flat batteries again, well unless its dark and you're not moving :D

Oh the possibilities hehe

The bulb will need replacement after a limited number of hours. The heat it generates will increase the noise. It will add to the overall cost due to added parts (electronics, bulb, sealing). And it will lessen the battery life...... If these will not be issues then I'm all for it. Otherwise, I rather just buy a HDMI cable.

No, the latest Projectors use LEDs which give off much less heat and use less battery power.

We need FF rather then useless gidzmoz. Though kindergarten auditorium definitely has other POV

All your “arguments” was in wild in Nikon forums….. Up until they got their own FF.

There is no doubt – in photography bigger is better. Regardless digital or film. Would you like to pay premium for FF is completely different story

what we need and we could get
directprint button
mp3 player
speaker/headset port
HDMI Out

USB port* and CD burning app, so that you can plug in your external CD burner and burn jpegs on CD straight from camera
handsfree phone (dial on rear LCD screen)
64gb built in compact flash
gps
can opener*

toothpick holder* (for three toothpicks, we don't want it to become too large or complex)
knife*
screwdriver*
scissors*
nailbrush*
3G internet access
facebook app (for easy upload into your facebook account directly from camera)

and projector so that you can watch jpegs or youtube videos through the camera... also wii wireless connectivity and wii remote compatibility, so that you mii can be seamlessly streamed into the jpegs to avoid postprocessing later.

not sure if I forgot anything coming in K8
  • " * " only as part of BG5 grip
