Which is the best camera

the one YOU like that costs less than $800, our opinions shouldn't matter...

it's really as simple as that as they all have their pros/cons, they'll all take a great picture, and they'll all compel you to spend more money and such on lenses and the like.

buy one, take pictures and have fun.

The best is always what YOU own. No matter what everybody else says. Your equipment is the best , just because it's YOURS. :D

First questions you should ask yourself:

What do I want to do with a camera?

What camera suits my tasks the best?

Do I really need to spend $800 (for my first camera, if it is)?

Other questions would be:

Do I want a stand-alone camera, or one which uses accessories (lenses, flash etc)?

If I intend to use additional lenses, which type do I need for my purposes?

Hi,

Sometimes I think that the answer to this question is "have you got big hands or little hands?" because most if not all will take decent pictures. Assuming the user knows what they are doing...

So it's just a question of fitting the thing to their hands.

The next question is "do you want an optical view finder" and then "do you want to use an external flash".
