D90 with SB600 questions.

What is the fastest shutter that you can use with the SB600 attached? For some reason I think I could only shoot at 1/200 or slower only.

My goal is to blur the background with a 2.8 lens. However I want a faster shutter with a wide open aperture with some fill light.

Max flash sync speed for the d90 is 1/200. If you set Auto FP mode on, you can sync at any speed but with loss of power above 1/200.

1/4000 sec. if you turn FP on (setting e5) in the camera.
