Battery Grip Nikon D5000

There must be (or soon will be) 3rd party solutions that you can find on ebay if you search.
But why on earth would you turn a small, handy camera into a boat anchor??
If you want extra batteries, simply by one/some

If you want to look smart, buy a big lens with a big hood or, better still, return the D5000 and pay 1/6 of the price for a used D1

Grips for the D40,60 will also fit the D5000. As Ancient_Mariner said, check ebay and almost any major camera store. As for using a grip on a small frame camera it helps with bigger hands and larger lenses for balance. I use one on my D60 at times, not much more in weight but I can 'hold' the camera firmly.

Are youi sure? The Nikon site does not list a grip as an accessory for the D5000, nor do they list the MB-D80 Multi Power Battery Pack as compatible with the D5000.

Nikon did not release a grip for the D5000, you are correct but aftermarket D40/60 grips will fit. Search D5000 grip in google, many hits.

Hi. If you look down this forum I've written a quick review of a grip I bought for my D40, which should be a very similar item. It's titled 'Cheap D40 battery grip'.

Cheers, Steve

It sometimes amazes me on here how arrogant people sound when replying to posts. People obviously have their reasons for doing what they do. It's sometimes not a very accepting attitude on here, is it?
