I'm not sure how many people have noticed this, but on the four thirds org web site they have not only added the E-P1 so you can match m4/3 and regular 4/3 lenses, but you can select and match classic lenses. There are 6 voiglander and 5 OM to choose from.

Hint : for useful comparisons, I always use the top down view.

E-P1 looks OK with 25mm pancake (although the adapter is as big as the lens)
E-P1 looks also still OK with the PL25mm.

Those would be two lenses I would expect to really use with such a camera.

It is also interesting to compare the size of the lenses between them (like 14-42 FT with 14-42 µFT; and 7-14 FT with 7-14 µFT).

I am wondering if we'll see a direct adapter K-AR-m4/3 soon, could do without the DIY bit now, still need to convert my 57 f1.4 myself ( I would soooo love the 1.2 though).

This EP-1 is very tempting as a wife Christmas present (EP-2 by then maybe) ;)

A fast 50mm prime legacy lens? The Leica R 50mm f2 for example... would make a lovely portrait lens on the E-P1

Cheers

Brian
I have an OM 50mm F1.8.

I have at one point debated getting my hands on an OM 50mm F1.4 or F1.2 (for low light).

But then I went for the PL25mmF1.4, thinking that shallow DOF would be hard enough anyway, even WITH the benefit of AF help.

I don't have any other legacy lenses than a couple of OMs.
I don't actively seek them, because I would use them too little.
The OMs are different because they fit my OM2n.

It pretty good even wide open, and it's not too front heavy on the E-P1. If Brian lets me borrow his loaner for a while I'd show you some pics - hint hint.

I've also got a Contax 50 f1.4 and that's even better for portraits - you don't need 20 feet between you and the subject :-) Very nice subject isolation, you just need to watch out for some PF on high contrast background areas.

the 50/1.2 isnt as good as the 50/1.4 or the 50/1.8 IMO

I would look at either Konica AR or Minolta for a 1.2, there is also an OM 55/1.2

worthwhile fast OM's are the 18/3.5 (well not so fast maybe), either 21, either 24, 28/2 and 3.5, the 40 and the 90, although Konica's 40/1.8 is better than Oly's 40 i think...

Looks like the 25mm with the adapter is about the same size as the new zoom lens when it's collapsed. If people have been able to fit the 25mm with a e-4xx body into a jacket pocket, then the e-p1 with the zoom should fit as well.
