I have been trying to sell my Minolta lens lately and it looks like they will mount on some of the Sony cameras. Is that correct? Also, I've been posting on craigslist with very little luck. Is there a good place to post these you can recommend or is it the typical craigslist and ebay?

If its a Minolta Maxxum mount lens, it will work (with a few rare exceptions, primarily a couple of old Sigma lenses). If it's an MC or MD mount, it will only work with an adapter, and then only in manual mode.

A good place to buy/sell is at http://www.dyxum.com - a site dedicated to the alpha mount. You'll find a lens database (with user and pro reviews), as well as a forum. Within the forum is a buy/sell board.

This question has been asked and answered many times on this forum. For more information search past treads. In short, the A mount used on Sony DSLRs is the same as the Minolta Autofofocus mounts so is totally compatable. If you have the older, NONAUTOFOCUS type mount it is not compatable without a special adaptor, and then has limited use.

Let us know what you have or where we can see your Craigslist offering. Somebody here might be interested. I know there are rules about selling on this site, so maybe the city you are in so we can at least try to find the CL listing. So far I have bought a lens and a flash through CL so I would not take that listing down if I were you. There are some out there that use it.

Zeiss taste...Beercan budget!

I've had good luck on ebay where I have probably purchased five lenses including three Minoltas (50 1.7, 85 1.4, and 70-210/4). All have been as described. Be careful though about the feedback of those who you buy from.

KEH also sells a lot as do BH and Adorama.

Not to sell, but go to Boston and search for Maxxum. The town is Holliston. It has a complete setup w/pic.

Maxxum 9000
MD-90 + BP-90 (Motor Drive + Battery Pack)
Program Back Super 90
Maxxum 4000 Flash + color filters (5 + diffuser)
28mm f2.8 + Hoya UV Filter
35-70mm f4 + Hoya UV Filter
70-210mm f4
