This is the harbour at Staithes in Yorkshire. My first attempt at a pano.

The scene ideally should have been taken in the morning with the sun behind, but I had to make do with an against the light shot and some determined fiddling with the vibrance and clarity sliders in LR to breathe some life. Couldn't get rid of the burnt out sky though!

K100D, four frames, hand held, hand stitched in CS2. Curiously, the vertical line through the red buoy, although it looks like a stitch line, was present in the individual frame.

Looks good to me Mike especially considering you were shooting into the light.

The pano looks great! That line is not too noticable on my screen but I suppose if the weather had been sunnier it would show much more.

A lovely little place and a well captured pano - not the usual view of Staithes. For me the lost highlights are not a deal breaker. Thanks for sharing this image, it makes a welcome change from all the idle rumours and speculation currently filling the board!

I had an all-too-brief 20 mins in Staithes last Autumn - here's a fake tilt-shift looking out towards where your shot was taken:

Thanks again, any others to share from your aquatic viewpoint?

Well, I think the way the light falls is more attractive than a full-on glare. Your PP has brought out an early evening glow that adds a lot to the scene. A small area of blown sky is a small price to pay. And what you lost in the sky you gained in the water.

Excellent! You captured the mood perfectly.
The blown highlights in the sky are not disturbing at all.

Kind regards
