Hi everybody,

At the moment I work with a pro lab just North of Alicante, not far from Altea. The quality of the prints is good but their services is terrible (don't return calls, don't reply to e-mails, not even emails regarding outstanding bills!).

I have now more than once had angry/upset clients that have been waiting over 2 weeks for their prints. My lab does not seem to care (like many Spanish businesses I deal with unfortunately) and that is frustrating and very bad for business.

I really would like to have the option to work with another lab but I don't speak Spanish and could not use Google to find another lab,..hence this message to all you Spanish professional photographers.

Many thanks,
Drew

Thanks for that, much appreciated. Will check them out!

I looked into pro lab in the netherlands were I work from time to time but the prices are about 3-4 times as high.

Regards,
Drew

I live in Barcelona and I usually work with Laboratorios EGM. They are very reliable, offer great customer service and the quality is top notch.

You don't even have to go there, you can upload your pics to the FTP server and have them delivered to your place (or you can choose to pick them up). You can leave some notes for customized jobs and somebody will call you to confirm everything's OK (I don't know if they speak English, though...)

I live in Barcelona and the reference photo lab by Pro standards is this one:

Their website is in Spanish/Catalan/English

Hi Inaki, many thanks for that! I would prefer Spain as the prices are more acceptable. Could you tell me what they charge for a 18x13 print and a 10x15cm print (incl/excl IVA).

Great!

Not my line of business but I did check out this company on recommendation from several wedding photographers I know, the quality is said to be very good.

I also looked at the Italian company everyone raves about Graphistudio I think, looked very tarty and chavy to me.

For semi-manual prints, the price is 1,29 euro for the 10x15 and 3,11 for the 18x13. I don't know if IVA is included, though...

Remember! This is in cms., not inches!

There is a new lab based in Barcelona, it is called Amigou Lab! I found their prices/ quality of care and general experience the best out of all the labs. A lot of people suggested Carmencita to me but I found them to be dissatisfying. I think Amigou lab has a drop off in Raval now as well (Niky house)

I got my rolls back in 2 days even though the turnaround is meant to be 5/7 days!

The guys at the lab always are patient, and we have talked for hours about film photography and photography in general. They are seriously passionate and always have the client in mind... when I first went in, they asked me to fill out a questionnaire to make sure that the lab would satisfy the scanning preferences. I like my black and white scans to come out very flat, so I'm glad they asked and delivered with those preferences.

Last thing; they have a gallery, co-working space (only for photographers), studio and I believe are building a community darkroom as we speak.
