I have notest that during a shoot from time to time
AF suddenly stops working - pressing the shutter halfway
down (or till the end) doesn't activate the AF. Turn on-off
fixes the problem. I haven't had the camera long enough
to be more precise here, has anybody experienced the
same?

Thanks,
Ivar

I had it a lot (with 20d - 40d - 350d - 50 d) ... it's normal...

before you send it back .. perhaps try cleaning all your lens contacts.

I've had it happen once and I had to do a battery out, reset to get AF back. I have had the screen go black a couple of times and none of the buttons work at all. Turn off/on solved the problem. I know I did not accidently touch the DOF button in any of these events.

With such tolerance for obvious defects, one wonders how long before cameras are delivered that may or may not capture an image when the shutter is released.
