I have the chance to purchase an HP designjet 5500 with supplies (ink, paper rolls, etc) at a bankrupcy auction. Printer is less than a year old and has only been used a few times. Of course I'm hoping to get it inexpensively but looking for advice as to what I might look out for, consider, be cautioned against etc. when bidding on this. Had no plans to purchase a printer of this size but would love to add it to my Epson 3800 for larger fine-art prints. I know the HP and the Epson have different issues and would complicate my workflow but this seems like a possibility worth exploring. Any thoughts? My output is low volume but this would expand my range of work.
