External flash for the 707

There are about 5 other options you have,
1) Use the onboard flash
2) Shoot in bright sunshine or artificial light
3) Use flash powder like the old timers did
4) Manually trigger an external flash at just the right moment.
5) Use slaves that will trigger off the F707 flash or the F1000 flash.

So many options, so, so many options ;-)

7) Get a REALLY powerful flashlight.

You might think the F1000 is weak, but have you tried Sfishy's sensor cover idea? I just covered it with my fingers, and the pic was so overexposed, that you couldn't make anything out in the pic.
For the price, I'll play with it and see what it can REALLY do.

Thanks, I post this question because I heard about a Metz flash for the 707

Im a pro and Im need a flash that bounce like a SB-26 or SB-28 and works TTL or at least Automatic (on flash) mode. This Digiflash bounce everywhere? It has More controls than the on/off switch?
I think I'll wait for the D100...
thanks
and sorry for the english... I'm from Brasil (here we type with S).

Has anyone experimented with Quartz light? I have one here and the box reads..."500 watts...
Brighter than six,150 watt par floods but uses less energy.
Bright natural white light illuminates up to 10000 sq.ft
Unit can be used with standard wall or dimmer switch.
Instant on security light with 120 volt operation.

A bulb with its fixture costs about $5 .

I had intended to give it a try with my camcorder which ive been using indoors with just 200 watt tungsten and sometimes a florescent fixture. Why would it have to flash? Why not leave it on for several snaps? It may light fast enough to flash...i dont know.

Also wanted to mention that a poster had posted that he found using 2 500 watt hot lamps a successful method of shooting portraits with his 707...the portraits were best ive seen.

I was bringing up the thread with the Metz. But you need a so called SCA-adapter made by Metz to use their regular flash units with the DA. This SCA-adapter will be announce in june, but for now I don't know what features from the F707 will be supported for the Metz flash units. I don't even know which informations are available from the DA over the cable connection.

As far as i know only the signal to fire the flash comes through the cable. the flash has to do the rest. No TTL, kind of fake TTL.

Well i guess ill have to find out on my own...i mean whod admit they just use a Tungsten bulb and a cheap Quartz light...thatd be like eating" Lucky Charms" for breakfast>
