My question is, what is on your desktop and why.
This is my current desktop:



Having recently watched the movie Mamma Mia, I purchased a Greatest Hits album by this Swedish group from the 1970's. I was but a youth at the time and don't really remember much about ABBA during there heydays. Now I find I enjoy that style of music very much.

Used Photoshop and created a new document the size of my monitor and resized the Abba wallpaper to fit leaving some space around the perimeter. I sampled a color from the album for the solid green background.
This is my wife's desktop:



This is my granddaughter as the "Doll" during the Nutcracker and taken with my trusty 1DMKIII and 70-200mm f/2.8 IS L Canon lens. Hey, I did mention some equipment, hurray.

Come on Claude, show us your creativity. Pick one of your favorite pictures and set up a new background, solid colors will drive you mad.

I was looking at your profile, I miss my G3. Granddaughter is doing fine, can't say the same for the G3. I am toying with the idea of picking up a G10.

People who waste ram with desktop backgrounds drive me mad =) I always pis s people off with my bofh admin practice of denying people changing the background at the office.

To paraphrase Ford, in my office the rule is; Your desktop can be whatever you want, so long as its black. My machines are the same, black background. If I'm sitting at my computer, I'm not looking at the desktop, if I'm not at my computer, the monitor is off or blank.
 
nah I find images and stuff too distracting and photos don't work well for my setup, I have a 30" and 24" Samsung monitors so, well, photos just don't work for bkg

The only time a smaller sensor with the same pixel count is superior to a larger sensor (aka higher pixel density) is when you are focal-length limited.

As I too manage huge numbers of PCs I agree with the concept in general but the color choice is very bad. Black is a very non inspirational and depressing color. A toned down Blue is much better.

I have my desktop set to change my aurora photos. The horizontal images at pbase.com/santa/aurora are my desktop folder as well as screen saver images.

 
Oh dear, I'm from the UK and can tell you that the Model T was produced in Red Green Blue (RGB before Adobe) and Black .
So be a devil and change your desktop.
