Have just purchased a 707 and used it some yesterday.
It was certified in April of 2002, and has a serial number that begins with 1409. I see no distortion on the left side when taking a picture of the sky forinstance.
Am very happy with the first pictures. The detail is amazing, sharp and crisp. Depth of field was lacking in some pictures, but more experience with the camera and better light might resolve that.
Color saturation is amazing. It is vivid, just like Fuji film, and completely control-able by software in the computer.
Printed some photos on my Epson 1280 printer. Amazing.
Thought long and hard about the Nikon Cool Pix 5000, but the lens softness and limited focal lenth of the zoom, turned me off.
