--This news from Canon rumors got me thinking. If the 15.1 sensor is not good enough for the XXD series and they already have a contract with the factory for a large # of sensors, it makes sense that canon would use the chips for the rebel. But this could also mean that they have something new coming for the XXD series too.
what do you think?

--I think you havnt used a 50D.

You should try a 50D first and then you will see whether its sensor is good enough or not. Its great enough for me...

And this news from the equally reliable Astrodairy rumors got me thinking. If the moon is made of green cheese, NASA will soon become the chief rival to Wisconsin as cheese suppliers to the US.
What do you think?

We at the CDA take exception to your last post. California has always produced as many cheeseheads as Wisconson over the years but ours are generally overlooked due to diversity of cultures here in sunny California.

That is absolute nonsense. Anyone with eyes and some physics knowledge can determine that the moon is made of yellow cheese and it is plastic wrapped. The thickness of the plastic wrapping is causing superposition of the reflected lightwaves that makes it APPEAR to be green cheese. Believe me, it's yellow. I have done the optics calculations And therefore, it is Kraft that is in trouble.

Hey Jeff,

According to your profile, you live in Sugarland Texas. Perhaps you've recently escaped. If so, congratulations! I escaped from Houston to Boulder a year and a half ago. As for your dairy claims, I'll leave that to genuine Wisconsinites to challenge. Perhaps we'll get a cheesehead claiming that Wisconsin leads the nation in wine production!

Where are all the lactose intolerant people going to go when we run out of megapixel resources?

thats normal. they trickle down from xxD to xxxD. No big surprise.
Actually, before the 50D, things trickled UP from the xxxD to the xxD. The 400D (Rebel XTi) introduced the shaker and 10MP, while the 30D was still the head of the xxDs and sporting 8MP and only stay-away-from-dust advice. The 40D "caught up" some time later.

But with the right cultures, you get blue cheese, and the moon looks blue to me.

Ooops - white balance wrong again. Sorry.

I don't agree with you guys ! If the moon was made of cheese it would be of a bad quality. So, no real competition for us, here in France.

something new coming for the XXD series too.

If sensor production capacity significantly exceeds 50D sales that would be a good reason to use the same sensor in the Rebel line as well.

And today's expectations of total 50D sales - over its 18 or 24 months life cycle - might be much lower than at the time they had to plan their production capacity. Global economy is slowing down, you know...

Well, if you remember Wallace and Gromit, it is the british that fly to the moon to eat it, not the french, not the italian, not the dutch, maybe the germans. But, then, what else could you expect from a people believing that Cheddar is the best cheese in the world!

Roberto

Sorry people, have to disagree with you all. Why are the Dutch called cheeseheads? Because we make the best cheese in the world (Gouda, Edam, etc)
End of discussion as far as i am concerned :-)

This is true. For a while, the Rebels have had more pixels than the XD series which played catch up in that regard.

The 50D cycle will likely be 12 or 18 months.

Huummmm, I really sugest french cheese for your bread ! You will never be disapointed.

In fact there is an inverse correlation between Canon current products and French cheese.

The French cheese may smells bad but it tastes really good.
CANON smells really good but nowadays it tastes bad.
