back when stylus was 3Mp. an Oly rep, at an event at a local camera store, took a pic with the camera then printed the image with an Oly printer(?). as soon as the image was done printing he threw it and the camera into a pale of water. near the end of the event he took the items out of the water, turned on the camera, and passed the items around to everyone for inspection.

Thanks for sharing that link. I was hoping they would actually put it on the road and run it over like what would happen in real life, you know, in case you forgot it on top of the car and it ended up on the street for awhile.

I'm mostly surprised that they were using the video on the camera while they ran over it! I can see it surviving a roll over with the tire while it was closed but not while it was actually taping. HA!

Gidday CMJ & All

I recommended one of these to my cousin as a replacement for his 3MP Olympus. On his old camera, the lens mechanism had ground itself to a pulp and seized up. I did not recommend it for its ultimate IQ, but because it is pretty indestructible!

Olympus Oz offered to replace his (dead) camera for the cost of the repair. It was over 3 years old ... and they gave him the 850SW (IIRC) as a replacement!

He is very pleased with his 850SW. BUT I did not realise they were as tough as this! ROTFLMHO ...

I would love one for taking piccies of raindrops hitting the water, from underneath. Not likely to buy one just for this though!

Great stuff, thanks for sharing this.

Perhaps being kind to cats, dogs & children does ...
