I'm looking at this forum and slowly realizing that last 50 threads are about the same single camera ;)

So I suggest we drop out all these long alternate spellings like
5D Mark 2
5D Mark II
5D MK2
5D MKII
and use one short, highly recognizable "5D2".

For the last week, I've made more than a hundred google queries about this camera. And results always differed depending on how I'd spelled the camera's name.

More of a joke :)

The most pre ordered camera that a big chunk of the Canon community wishes to own before Christmas, the one, the only, the new kid on the block, the Canon Electro-Optical System 5D Mark II. ...

Of course it is a macro on my machine and requires only one combined keystroke (5-Squared)

;-)

For an almost $3K camera (with extra batteries)... a little respect, 5DMkII :)

There is a forum concentrating on the 5D2 that was mentioned somewhere here. I've forgotten the URL. The guy calls that forum Mii because he thinks it's cute. It seemed that most of the posts were people telling him to call it the 5D2. (OK, I exaggerate).

Almost

So. ... 5D2 ... At least the "D" is uppercase. ;-)

Ok, I'm stubborn.

Next, due to all the posts, black dots will merely be bd.

And the frequency of posts re the 5D2, oops, 5DMkII, shouldn't suprise anyone. Remember the 1DMkIII, or was that the 1D3?

besides after buying one, you should feel free to call it anything you please :) Happy Shooting!

Or how about the Cinco Dee Mark Dos?

Uh, yeah, like with other cameras that have only one descriptor:

The 1DsM3, or is it the 1DsMK3, or perhaps the 1DsMIII, or was it the 1DsMkIII, or for simplicity just the 1Ds...

... and so on.

Good luck with that! :-)
