Hi folks
I was in Gibraltar at the weekend and went to my usual camera shop. Over the past 5 years I have bought all my kit from there and have become a friend of the family so to speak. My latest purchases being a D3 and a 85 1.4 (awesome setup).
Well...after reading about all this hype surrounding a larger sensor nikon on the horizon I put this question forward to my good friend Sanjit, the manager of Galaxy photography supplies. Sanjit is Asian, likes his food and certainly isnt shy when it comes to speaking his mind. He´s got to be in his mid forties by now i´d say, maybe nearer 50 to be honest but without holding his age against him he still knows how to share a joke. The times we´ve mocked those people coming into his shop wanting to buy a Canon (he is a die hard Nikon fan BTW) are countless. One other thing I have to mention is Sanjits love for women (like most Asians), he can be sooo slimey...even if a girl walks in arm in arm with her partner he´s over their like a rat up a drain pipe, 'can I help you?', 'where did you find a beautiful girl like that?' 'Are there any left?'. When I first starting shopping in Galaxy he was the same with my girlfriend (dont blame him cos she is drop dead gorgeous), although he was annoying at first once you get to know him you just laugh at his cheesy lines and dribbling. Cutting to the chase, Sanjit is a top camera salesman, a true Nikon fan and certainly knows how to part you with your hard earned cash.
Well anyway..his answer to my question was NO. No MX format camera being released my Nikon within the next 6 months.
So there you have it, sorry folks.
