HDR of Corfu (Greece)

Finally I found some time to PP some pictures of my last foreign trip to Corfu. I like to share this HDR, CC is much appreciated! Thnx

HDR created in Photomatix, saved as tiff and enhenced with Nikon Capture NX2 (color control points mainly).

  1. 2: 3 shots, Nikon D300, Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 @ 48mm, ISO 200

I would just like to say that I feel the original is a fine image and
that on this occasion the HDR image is a bit over the top.

Thanks for your opinion! I have to say that this one is indeed a bit over the top.. but the strange thing is that I kinda like it this way..

It will be on the wall (blown up to 70x50cm or so) and I think it looks great that way...?

it is very possible to do HDR effects in NX2 or something very close to it!

Load any image, jpeg or raw, and click on new step.

click on focus, then high pass, the image should be gray.

then in opacity setting click on overlay.

in radius settings, increase the slider to 100% then slowly bring it down to a desired level for the HDR effect, this is around 30.2% or 27% depending on the picture.

Voila! a HDR image without layering diffrent exposed pics together!

Thanks for the tip, but I don't really think this is an HDR-effect. It looks more like tonal contrast or something similar?
