The theme for July's challenge is 'Expression'. This is a broad subject area which may include everything from facial expressions, the various ways we express ourselves, to even a photographic representation of expressions of speech. Anything that falls within the definition of the word 'Expression' will do.

Challenge #36 closes: July 30th 2008, 23:59-59 midnight IDLW

Thanks Russell

very nice. i like the first one best but i think they are both good.

i think that the first one is just a bit under exposed but that just my opinion and the second one could use a slight bit more dof. but then again i do like them a lot so take this how you want.

very nice

I really like the first picture.... the flower looks as if it's made of glass. The composition suites me very well but I am curious about the details. What kind of lens, what exposure, and was there any PP work? I hate to ask but I would love to make flowers look as beautiful as you have done; share some of your secrets?

For a little honesty after the awe, the second picture is technically perfect (in my humble uneducated opinion) but looks rather like a tongue over ribs. A little bit creepy to me, but maybe that's just me.

Thank you for sharing,
JJH

Thanks Matt, background brightness may have thrown the metering a little so you may be right and second f8 was to throw the background because it was so similar to the subject.

First one has a nicer looking flower, but I find myself fixated on the droplet that's hanging by the thread in second one, rather suspenseful in my opinion.

Yep me too, I keep loking at it waiting for it to drop!
