Stay away from Sandisk

I'm a professional photographers for 20 years. I 've had lots of customer service issues. I find Sandisk to be the worst of the batch. I recommend everyone not buy more from them.

I've had the exact opposite experience: I found Sandisk to have the best customer service (had much worse with Lexar).
 
If you are a professional photographer like you say you are then you must not know much about digital photography and storage cards, as Sandisk has proven time after time that they manufacturer the best of the best storage cards.

You say that you have had "lots of customer service issues." If you have had to contact Sandisk customer service that many times, it would appear to me (also a professional photographer who has never had reason to contact Sandisk about anything), that you must not know what you are doing with storage cards . . . . .

I have had good luck contacting Sandisk. They sent me a new card reader for free as replacement for one I bought that failed. It was after the 30 days where I was not able to take it back to the store I bought it from. This is a specific case of good experience. Not a just a "I don't like them" general statement.
 
I have used that has not given me corrupt files on a regular basis. I do not get many with the "other" big name but I can always count on one or two out of 200. I now use Sandisk exclusively. No issue.
 
Thr only problem I ever had with a CF failure (probably my fault for pulling while powered) was replaced by SanDisk without question couple of years after purchase, so customer service was fine for me. All my other SanDisks from CF to SD to SDHC still work fine so a good experience here.

Twenty year pro has his first problem back in April, and now he wants us all to boycott them. If he's had more problems since that first problem back in April, then the problem lies somewhere other than the memory card.

If you normalize the number of reports of bad cards by taking into account the market share each manufacturer has, I bet SanDisk comes out head and shoulders above the rest.

I use Sandisk exclusively and never had an issue with a card. I'm not questioning your experience with their customer support but I've never had any need to call them and a sample size of one isn't going make me rethink the card I use. Sorry if you lost any data though.
 
Nothing but Sandisk

I have used nothing other than Sandisk for over 3 years, not one bit of trouble.

I think Sandisk invented Compact Flash cards.

Sorry guys, here is what I'm saying:

The cards are fine, except the last one. On whole though they are fine cards.

But I called them, you get a horrid wait, some goofballs with heavy Indian accents who say they will call and e mail back with your RMA ( because of computer problems) -- and then never call back or e mail back.

You e mail support 2x and they don't e mail back. Ever. They also wont do data recovery. And their techs are generally morons.

In contrast to Lexar support it's night and day. I will never buy Sandisk again. Such a garbage company.
Not saying cards are poor, I'm talking about customer service. thanks.
 
Is this werid? I finally got the replacement card, and it came unsealed, loose, just in the little cf plastic thing that you pop open? thanks.

In other words it could be used for all I know.
 
They starte a new RMA to get a sealed card out, but am getting a circle runaround now for that. WORST customer service of any company outside of the DMV or US Post office

the only failure I had (probably my fault described above) filled in the USA RMA, got a new card no problem in the UK, so I don't see it either unless you can't even fill in an RMA properly or it wasn't a genuine sandisk.
 
WORST customer service of any company
outside of the DMV or US Post office
Well, if the USPS and DMV are worse, they must be pretty darn good. I've had nothing but curtious, friendly, and efficient service at my post office. My mail carrier is friendly enough, but still insists on folding my magzines around the envelopes so she can bundle everything with a rubber band. Still, she knows if she sees the MPIX box, or the B&H packaging tape to bring the mail to the door and ring the doorbell.

It's been 15 years since I've dealt with a DMV. Florida's seperated the licensing and vehicle registration functions. County handles registration on-line, in the mail, or through a big staff at the county courthouse with no waiting to see friendly, helpfull clerks. Just got my license renewed at the license bureau last month, and it couldn't have gone any smoother. They checked my vision, took my check, snapped my picture, then had me wait 5 minutes for thier fancy printer to print the new license. I was in and out in under 10 minutes.

Carefull with the stereotypes you use. I pitty you if your mail carrier is reading this forum!

OK, the score is 1 disgruntled SanDisk user, and about 15 bajillion happy SanDisk users. Your vote's been counted. Who's next?

I keep looking at other brands, but SanDisk still comes out on top in every category except rebates.
