Sometimes in this forum I've read posts where DLS was used as synonym of vignetting. If I'm not wrong they are different issues.

My 707 just shows some (symmetrical) vignetting and I was wondering if something can be done to address this issue which, I understand, is at some level a characteristic of the lens system.

Did someone of you get his/her vignetting (not DLS) problems fixed/relieved by sending the camera to the Sony repair service?

Thanks.

Oscar:

Asymmetrical vignetting is the cause of DLS. They are not different issues. Symmetrical vignetting is a fact of life with photography. Have a read for more info: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=2521623

PS> DLS is repairable by Sony Servivce.

Forgot to answer your last question:
symmetrical vignetting is normal and cannot be "fixed".
